As the temperatures continue to climb all over the country, so too does the number of big races across the continent. We’ve done our best to come up with a list of the 10 (plus) best events you should try to head to this weekend.
ARCA Midwest Tour Dixieland 250 at Wisconsin International Raceway (WI) – The Dixieland 250 brings in big names from the Midwest as they battle for the title of the best-of-the-best at Wisconsin International Raceway. It has captured the attention of NASCAR Cup champion Kyle Busch who will be competing in a SLM as well as Mark Martin who will be signing autographs at the event on Tuesday, August 1st.
Tri-Track Open Modified Series SBM 125 at Star Speedway (NH) – The Tri-Track Open Modified Series invandes New Hampshire on Saturday for the SBM 125. This Open Modified Touring division boasts one of the higher purses in its tour and brings in drivers including “Big Money” Matt Hirschman who is on a hot streak.
Pro All Stars Series Doubleheader at Oxford Plains Speedway (ME) and Southern National Motorsports Park (NC) – The PASS Series finds its way to two tracks this weekend as one is making up for a rain-date. The PASS South is at Southern National Motorsports Park making up for a rain out earlier this season whereas the PASS North takes over Oxford Plains as drivers prepare to take on the Oxford 250 at the end of August.
Larry Detjens Memorial at State Park Speedway (WI) – Another Super Late Model race in the state of Wisconsin is on the schedule this weekend as the Larry Detjens Memorial is set for Saturday night. Super Late Models will hit the track for 100 laps of racing action at State Park Speedway allowing drivers to maybe shake some things out in preparation for Tuesday’s Dixieland 250 at WIS.
Short Track Super Series at Susquehanna Speedway (PA) – The Short Track Super Series (South) heads to Pennslvanyia for a Sunday evening show to cap off the weekend of racing. The STSS drivers battle it out at Susquehanna Speedway for a heafty pay-check as $10,000 are on the line for the York County Nationals.
Southern Super Series at Five Flags Speedway (FL) – The Southern Super Series returns to Pensacola, Florida for the third time this season. Both Bubba Pollard and Jeff Choquette have found their way to victory lane at Five Flags Speedway this season and are looking to do so again. Points leaders (tied) Chandler Smith and Stephen Nasse are looking for their first SSS wins this season as the SSS combines with the Blizzard Series this weekend.
ARCA/CRA Super Series at Kil-Kare Speedway (OH) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series is heading to Kil-Kare Speedway this weekend for race No. 9 of the season. The points standings are tight and expected to heat up even more at the Ohio track as Hunter Jack and Josh Brock are tied for the points lead over Johnny Van Doorn who trails behind in third.
$5k Late Model Race at Madera Speedway (CA) – One of the bigger pay-out races of the season is this weekend at Madera Speedway in Madera, California as $5,000 is up for grabs for their late model division. The 125-lap feature is the perfect Saturday night show for families as Madera Speedway is right in the center of town.
NASCAR K&N East/West Combo at Iowa Speedway (IA) – Iowa Speedway is the halfway mark for both the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West teams as they all travel and converge at the speedway tucked in the Iowa corn fields. Both series will run on Friday night as a prelude to the NASCAR Xfinity Series Saturday night and battle to see who is the best in the country.
NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock 100 at South Boston Speedway (VA) – A big 100-lapper at South Boston Speedway is slated for Saturday night, which will add to the points battle for the local, state, and national championship standings. Peyton Sellers is one looking for another win as a recent victory had him in the hunt for a repeat.
