While some people are planning cookouts or pool parties or are figuring out where to see some fireworks, race fans are trying to figure out what race to go to this July 4th weekend. We wanted to help out by narrowing down the 10 best races of the weekend in our “10 to Attend.”
New England Short Track Showdown at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NH) – New Hampshire Motor Speedway is going to be a hotbed of short track racing this Saturday. The Granite State Pro Stocks, Valenti Modified Racing Series, North East Mini Stock Tour, and the Street Stock Showdown Series are all on the schedule for Saturday afternoon’s event.
PASS Non-Winners Race at Oxford-Plains Speedway (ME) – The Pro All Stars Series takes over Oxford-Plains Speedway for a non-points race with PASS regulars and Oxford locals battling it out for one of the last provisional “lock-in” spots for the Oxford 250 at the end of August.
Short Track Super Series at Accord Speedway (NY) – The Short Track Super Series takes to Accord Speedway for the Battle at the Bullring 5. If you didn’t get enough racing action Friday and Saturday, head to Accord for this Monday night feature.
Southern Super Series at Montgomery Speedway (AL) – The premier touring Super Late Model series of the South takes to Alabama this Saturday night for the Rumble by the River 125. The up-and-coming SLM drivers of the South will battle it out along side the Modifieds of Mayhem who will also be at Montgomery.
Salute to America/ARCA Midwest Tour & Big 8 Late Models at Rockford Speedway (IL) – This Saturday night the ARCA Midwest Tour makes their sixth stop of the season at Rockford Speedway for their “Salute to America” event. The perfect way to kick off the Independence Day celebration is to make your way to the Illinois bullring for some grass roots racing.
Masters of the Pros at Lebanon I-44 Speedway (MO) – After its original date in May was rained out, the largest paying Pro Late Model race in the country has been rescheduled for this weekend. Hosted by the JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour, this event is sure to be action-packed with PLM drivers battling it out for a large pay check.
Clyde Hart Memorial at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) – The Clyde Hart Memorial is a 100-lap SLM race at New Smyrna in memory of Clyde, the former owner and father of current owner, Robert. Clyde’s truck still sits atop the banking of turn one where he used to always watch the races.
Allen Turner Pro Late Model Series at Five Flags Speedway (FL) – Pro Late Models are back in action at Five Flags Speedway for the third Allen Turner race. Speed51.com will have the action covered with Trackside Now coverage.
Super DIRTcar Series at Utica-Rome Speedway (NY) – The Big Block Modifieds of the Super DIRTcar Series are taking on the half-mile oval of Utica-Rome Speedway. This is the first and only time the series makes the stop at Utica-Rome this season.
Jim Blount Memorial at New Paris Speedway (IN) – Outlaw Late Model racing’s best will do battle on the tight 1/4-mile bullring of New Paris Speedway on Saturday night for 75 laps. If you can’t make it out to New Paris, you can become a premium member on Speed51.com and watch the race live as part of the Summer Thunder TV series presented by PFC Brakes.
Main Event Racing Series at Midvale Speedway (OH) – On Monday the Main Event Racing Series Outlaw Late Models take center stage at the 0.3-mile Midvale Speedway. If you cannot make it to Midvale Speedway, you can become a premium member on Speed51.com and watch the race live as part of the Summer Thunder TV series presented by PFC Brakes.
