10 Things to Know: Slinger Nationals

The Super Late Model world turns its eyes to Slinger, Wisconsin Tuesday night, the site of the 42nd Annual Slinger Nationals.  To prepare for tonight’s marquee event, here are 10 Things to Know about the Slinger Nationals.


1 – The main event will be 200-laps for the Super Late Models, who can get around the track in under 12 seconds. The race will be split into two segments with a pit stop at halfway.

3 – The field will be full of talented Super Late Model drivers young and old.  Find an entry list for Tuesday’s race below.

4 – The winner of the Slinger Nationals will earn the chance to return to Slinger on July 10 to race in the Camping World SRX Series event at the high-banked quarter-mile.


5 – Ty Majeski comes into the event seeking a third win in the Slinger Nationals in the last four years.  Majeski has led over 500 laps at the Slinger Nationals and has three podiums in his last three starts.  Overall, he has five top five finishes.


6 – Rich Bickle Jr. comes into the Slinger Nationals leading the track points by 13 markers over Dennis Prunty.  Both are former winners of the Slinger Nationals. Other past champions listed as entries include Conrad Morgan and Ty Majeski.


7 – NASCAR driver Erik Jones is on the entry list as the Michigan native was a career-best second at the Slinger Nationals in 2016.  His only other start was in 2018 where he was 23rd.


8 – Matt Kenseth has been the king of the event era at the Slinger Nationals. He has seven wins and eight top five finishes. That includes five wins in his last seven starts.  Kenseth is not expected to be racing this year.

9 – Stephen Nasse heads into Slinger Nationals weekend looking to improve on what has already been an impressive change from the first year to his second at the Nationals.  in 2019, he was 24th after mechanical problems.  In 2020, he was a lap off the pace in seventh.  After those first two experiences, we are expecting him to be a contender in his third Nationals.


10 – In addition to the Slinger Nationals 200 the Late Models will run a 40-lap feature prior to the main event.
