10 Things to Know: SBM 125 at Star Speedway

The Tri-Track Open Modified Series continues in a big way Saturday with the SBM 125 at Star Speedway.  Before SBM X kicks off, here are 10 Things to Know about the event.

1 – Matt Swanson will look to redeem himself after leading 112 of the 121 laps at Star only to be passed by Matt Hirschman for the win.  

 

2 – 35 cars answered the call for the SBM 125 in 2020 with 27 making the main event.

3 – This will be the 10th running of the SBM 125.  

 

4 – Ron Silk is the Tri-Track Modified series point leader coming in the the Star event.  Silk won the race back in 2019 after coming from the 21st spot after winning the cons to win the main event. 

 

5 – Speed51.TV will be the place to watch the SBM 125 this weekend.  If you can’t be in New Hampshire this weekend, then log on to watch the action live.  

 

6 – Matt Hirschman is a five-time winner of the SBM 125 at Star Speedway.  Hirschman has finished every race but one in the top 10 with eight total top-10 finishes. Of those, seven have been in the top five.  He has an average finish of 3.44. 

 

7 – A purse of more than $65,000 will be on the line at SBM X, as Tri-Track, Star Speedway and journalist Kevin Rice have worked together to put together highest-paying purse in the history of Star.

 

8 – The 350 Super Modifieds will be in action this weekend as a part of the SBM event. 

 

9 – Other former winners of the SBM 125 include Jon McKennedy, Todd Patnode and Ronnie Silk have all tasted victory at this big Modified event.
