10 Things to Know; PASS at Oxford Plains

On Saturday, the Pro All Stars Series makes one last visit to Oxford Plains Speedway before the Oxford 250.  Before the event, here are 10 Things to Know about the big tune-up event.

WATCH LIVE: PASS at Oxford Plains

1 – Brandon Barker won a very important Oxford 250 qualifying race at Oxford Plains Speedway two weeks back.

2 – This is the last PASS race before the Oxford 250 in two weeks.  It’s also the last crack for the local drivers and the series before the big weekend on August 27-29..

3 – Live coverage can be seen on Speed51.tv for Monthly or Yearly subscribers.

4 – Dave Farrington Jr. is the top man in the Super Late Model track points at Oxford coming into this weekend.  He has also won one of the three PASS events held at OPS this season. Farrington has to be a favorite this weekend and for the Oxford 250.

5 – Looking ahead, the Oxford 250 already had 65 entries with two weeks to go.

6 – Curtis Gerry has been nothing short of amazing at OPS.  Since 2017, he has won nine PASS races including the Oxford 250 and at one point five races in a row. He was in the top four in both his PASS starts this year at OPS.

7 – Another Mainer is making a comeback to the Pine Tree State.  Ryan Moore is coming up to run the PASS event.  Moore was third in the 2002 Oxford 250, but his last PASS start at OPS was in October 2012 where he was 15th after leading 20 laps.

8 – Johnny Clark heads back to Oxford after his 250 win last year as the PASS Series point leader.  Clark has nearly a 100 point lead going into this weekend’s race looking to add to it.

9 – When it comes to PASS events the last three this year have gone to different drivers.  Joey Dorion, DJ Shaw and Dave Farrington, Jr. have won this year.  There were four winners in Six races in 2020 with Curtis Gerry winning three times.

10 – One of the many things that makes Oxford such a great venue is you never know what type of race you are going to get as the track seems to change so much.  One week something might work for one driver and then next week it’s not good at all. There is an element of luck that goes into winning at OPS.
