A West Virginia doubleheader starts tonight for the FASTRAK Racing Series, as they will compete at Ohio Valley Speedway on Friday before heading to I-77 Speedway for the UBB Miners Memorial 29 on Saturday. Before this weekend’s racing, here are 10 things to know about the big weekend.
1 – These two races, at Ohio Valley Speedway (WV) on Friday and I-77 Speedway (WV) on Saturday, will be the third and fourth races of the 2020 season for FASTRAK.
2 – This will be the first visit for the FASTRAK Racing Series at Ohio Valley Speedway. The track was opened in 1958 and measure 3/8ths of a mile in length.
3 – Freddie Carpenter and Zack Dohm won FASTRAK races at I-77 Speedway in 2019. This will be the serie’s third visit to 3/8ths of a mile oval. It will be back-to-back nights in West Virginia.
4 – Layton Sullivan is the point leader after two events. It’s almost too early to tell how the season will shake out. Matt Long is second, eight points back.
5 – There are nine races scheduled for the remainder of the 2020 season. Things could change so be sure to check with the series for updates.
6 – A total of 32 drivers have run in the first two events this season. The FASTRAK National Weekly Championship has had over 150 drivers.
7 – While Friday night’s race pays $2,000 to win, the Saturday show will offer $3,000. If a driver sweeps the weekend they could pocket $5,000.
8 – Saturday’s race will be the 10th Annual UBB 29 Miners Memorial Race.
