10 Things to Know: 2021 Blizzard Series Finale

Tonight, the Blizzard Series and Southern Super Series come to a close for 2021 at Five Flags Speedway.  Ahead of tonight’s finale, here are 10 Things to Know about the Super Late Model portion of Five Flags’ Night of Champions.

Bill McAnally Racing has 10 championships and more than 100 wins

1 – The track’s Blizzard Series is on the line and a new champion is going to be crowned.  Jake Garcia leads by four points over Stephen Nasse for the Blizzard crown.  If Nasse could win the title, it would be the first for a Floridian at Five Flags since Johanna Long in 2009.

2 – The Blizzard Series finale will be 100 laps on Saturday night.

3 – The Blizzard Series title is not the only championship on the line as the Southern Super Series title comes to a close after the race as well.  Stephen Nasse leads Jake Garcia by 14 points for the championship.  Nasse could become the first three-time SSS champion while Garcia is seeking his first title.

4 – We have seen three different winners this season at Five Flags Speedway (FL) in Blizzard Series action.  Stephen Nasse, Bubba Pollard and Chandler Smith have all gone to victory lane. If a different winner pops up on Saturday it would be the first time since 2013 that there was not a repeat winner in the series.

5 – Five Flags Speedway is the backdrop for the Blizzard and Southern Super Series final.  The Pensacola, Florida track is the home of the Snowball Derby, the most prestigious race in Super Late Model racing.

6 – There have been eight different winners in 10 races in the Southern Super Series this year.

7 – Provisionals will be on the line as well, based on points as the highest Blizzard Series driver not in the top 10 can use a provisional at the Snowball Derby if they don’t make the race on time.  This also is true for the Southern Super Series, as the highest driver in the top 10 is eligible.

8 – Bubba Pollard is the all-time Series winner in the Blizzard Series after he took his 23rd win earlier in the season.  With that said, Pollard enters the finale night with no championship obligations for the title for the first time in a long time.  He can simply go out and try to win the race like he has done in the past.

9 – Fans can watch all the action live on Speed51.TV for the Pay Per View Broadcast of the Allen Turner Pro Late Model and Blizzard Series finale.

10 – Some big names on the entry list include Boris Jurkovic who is coming back from a nasty wreck at Berlin Raceway (MI) a few months back.  Jurkovic has eight top-10 finishes in 13 races at Five Flags.  With some of those top 10s coming in the Snowball Derby.
