Not much time remains for fans to place their vote for the driver who they think is the top prospect in short track racing. Fan voting for the 2017 Short Track Draft presented by PFC Brakes on Speed51.com ends this Saturday at Midnight ET.
As time is ticking down on the time left to vote, fans have flooded our social media platforms placing their votes on both our Five Star Race Car Bodies Facebook page and our Twitter feed presented by PFC Brakes.
Fans who have been following the draft have started to see the presence of videos and stories highlighting those eligible in the Short Track Draft. Be on the look out for more videos and stories giving you a behind-the-scenes look at drivers who make up the next generation of racing.
The idea of the fan vote is to have fans vote for the driver they would want behind the wheel of their race car if they were a NASCAR team owner. Fans can choose from a full list of dirt and asphalt racers who race everything from Legends Cars to Sprint Cars to Late Models.
Regardless of the type of surface or type of car, we want fans to pick who they think is the best equipped driver for the job.
The rules for this year’s draft are quite simple:
- The driver you choose must be 25 years of age or younger as of April 1, 2017.
- The driver may not have more than 10 scheduled starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series or NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
- The driver must maintain rookie status for all three of NASCAR’s top-three national touring series.
- The driver cannot be last year’s number-one pick, Ty Majeski.
If the driver you choose meets all of those requirements, all you have to do is place a comment with that driver’s name in an official Short Track Draft fan vote Facebook post that will be pinned to the top of our Facebook page.
You can also cast votes by using the hashtag #51Draft on Twitter.
The official ballot of eligible drivers can be found by clicking here.
Any person caught casting more than one vote each day will have all of their votes disqualified from this year’s fan vote.
In the end, the driver with the most votes will be awarded a first-place vote towards this year’s Short Track Draft presented by PFC Brakes. The driver with the second most votes will be awarded a second-place vote and so on.
The official Speed51.com Short Track Draft results will be revealed starting on Thursday, April 27. The winner of the 2017 Short Track Draft fan vote will be announced shortly thereafter.
