Speed51.com’s Concord, North Carolina headquarters will soon turn into a workshop that will pack boxes full of toys, candy, school supplies and more for needy children all over the world this holiday season as a part of Operation Christmas Child. The world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world.

graphic occ51’s staff has already begun collecting items to fill the boxes and invites motorsports fans to help pitch in to help children everywhere enjoy a happy holiday season.  Racers and fans alike are welcome to help 51’s efforts by donating any amount of money on Speed51.com’s secure payment site, with 100% of every penny raised going directly to items to be included in 51’s Operation Christmas Child boxes that will be sent to children across the globe.

“This is an awesome project to help children in need,” said Bob Dillner, Speed51.com Executive Editor.  “51’s contribution to Operation Christmas Child is the vision of my wife, Angie.  We all get caught up in our business of racing and she has really spearheaded this program and we hope to pack a bunch of boxes for the kids.  It will be a great way to kick off the Christmas season.  Samaritan’s Purse is a great organization too.  They do so much to spread God’s word around the world.”

Since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has collected and delivered more than 124 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories through Operation Christmas Child.  In 2015, Operation Christmas Child hopes to collect enough shoebox gifts to reach another 11 million children.

To do its part, Speed51.com’s staff and their families will collect and pack boxes at their headquarters in late October that will be brought directly to the Operation Christmas Child collection center in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Fans will be able to follow along with 51’s efforts through a live social media stream and more on “packing day.”

Upon being brought to the collection center, Samaritan’s Purse and its partners will deliver 51’s boxes and others to children in more than 100 countries.
