The sixth-annual Short Track Draft presented by Speed51.com is underway! Picks 1 thru 10 are Monday. Selections 11 - 25 will be on Tuesday at 5pm, while the remainder of the Top 51 will appear on Wednesday leading up to Thursday's Underclassmen Draft (17 and younger). Two Days of PASS Practice Are Available at Beech Ridge

There are two days of practice scheduled for PASS and weekly series teams at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME) this week. The sessions will take place on Thursday and Friday, April 30th and May 1st. Gates open at 12 noon., practice runs from 2 to 7pm both days. Pit tickets are $20, grandstand viewing is open free to the public. The practice is in advance of Saturday's PASS North race at Beech Ridge.

ARCA Driver James Hylton Hospitalized After Talladega

James Hylton was transported to a local hospital following the ARCA RE/MAX Series 250 at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday evening. Hylton, of Inman, South Carolina, exited his No. 48 Ford under his own power after finishing 15th in the ARCA RE/MAX 250. He was taken to the infield care center after completing the 250-mile race and then transported to Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, where he was admitted for overnight evaluation.
Tony Stewart Flips Sprint Car Friday Night But is OK

Tony Stewart went back to his short track roots Friday night at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC by driving a Sprint Car with the USCS tour. He was fast until another competitor hooked his wheel and turned him. Stewart's car flipped, but he was uninjured. Stewart and the Director of Racing Operations for Stewart-Haas Racing, Bobby Hutchens, are traveling to Bowman Gray Stadium opener Saturday in Winston Salem, NC. Hutchens will race a Modified.
ASA MWT Opener Postponed - Now Madison Int'l on May 3rd

ASAMT & Dells Raceway Park officials have postponed the running of the Race for the Gold Bronze Race scheduled for Saturday, April 25 due to inclement weather. 40-plus entries were received for the Dells race. The event will be re-scheduled for Saturday, June 6. The event at Madison Int'l Speedway on Sunday, May 3rd will open the season.
Menard Files Entry For Toledo ARCA Race, Will Run For Kimmel

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Paul Menard has filed an entry to compete in the ARCA RE/MAX Series "Menards 200" on Sunday, May 17 at Toledo Speedway. He will make his Toledo debut in a car prepared and fielded by Kimmel Racing. The Ford Fusion will carry Menards familiar #98, with sponsorship from Johns Manville.
Lake Erie Adds an ARCA Truck Event to Their Schedule

Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania is the latest facility to announce an ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series race date in 2009, officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America and Lake Erie Speedway announced. The regionally touring ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series will contest a 100-lap race at the 3/8-mile short track on August 29, joining a growing list of seven other race tracks that are part of the 2009 tour. The Series is currently scheduled to visit four states and Canada this season.
J.R. Norris and Richie Wauters Team Up Again for CRA Race

Former NASCAR Southeast Series champion J.R. Norris will reunite with car owner Richie Wauters to run next weekend's CRA Super Series event at Music City Motorplex (TN).

Corey LaJoie won this past weekend's UARA-Stars race at Rockingham Speedway (NC) in a borrowed Late Model Stock Car.

Dixie Motor Speedway Tuesday Night Test Session in Cancelled

For the third time in three tries, Dixie Motor Speedway (MI) officials are once again forced to cancel the Tuesday Night Test and Tune scheduled for April 21st due to rain showers, cold temperatures, and even the possibility of snow. As has been the case with the other cancellations, the driver neeting scheduled for those days have gone on as scheduled and thie Tuesday is no exception. The Fifth Drivers Meeting of the 2009 racing season, this one for the Weekly Local Racing Series Figure 8s division, is scheduled for 7:45pm
