Big 8 Season Opener at Rockford Postponed Till Next Week
BIG 8 Series - 4/19/09
Bad weather for the Spring Classic SPYDER 108 at Rockford Speedway in IL has pushed back the event one week.  The race will now take place on Sunday, April 26th.

Sean Caisse Wins ARCA Race at Rockingham Speedway
ARCA - 4/19/09
Pole sitter Ken Schrader led the most laps in ARCA RE/MAX Carolina 200, but he ran out of fuel with two laps to go giving the win to Sean Caisse who was driving the same car that Joey Logano took to victory lane last season for Venturini Motorsports.  Schrader ended up seventh a lap down.  Caisse was followed across the line by Patrick Sheltra, Matt Merrell, Bryan Silas, and Parker Kligerman.

Seuss Takes at Thriller on the NASCAR SMT at Lanier

Andy Seuss out-dueled George Brunnhoelzl III for the Whelen Southern Mod Tour victory Saturday night at Lanier Nat'l Speedway in Braselton, GA.  LW Miller and Burt Myers tangled on the final lap while battle for third.

Weather Forces Postponement of CRA at Winchester on Sunday

A poor weather forecast for Sunday forced Winchester Speedway officials to postpone the CRA Super Series race.  The SLM race will be made up on Sunday, May 17th.

Porter Beats Touring Regulars in GAS Stop at Anderson

Local racer Randy Porter bested the field of Georgia Asphalt Series regulars Friday night at Anderson Motor Speedway in SC.  Former NASCAR Cup champ Bill Elliott's son finished third.  1) Porter  2) Ralph Carnes  3) Elliott

Preston Peltier Wins NASCAR PLM 150 at Concord Speedway

Former Big 10 Series race winner Preston Peltier won the first extra-distance race for NASCAR's new Pro Late Model division at Concord Speedway.  Peltier was disqualified for a fuel violation after qualifying, but came from the rear of the nine car field to win Saturday's 150-lap race.  1) Peltier  2) Bobby Measmer Jr.  3) Roger Lee Newton

Schrader on the Pole for Sunday's ARCA Race at "The Rock"

Weather Forces Postponement of CRA at Winchester on Sunday

A poor weather forecast for Sunday forced Winchester Speedway officials to postpone the CRA Super Series race.  The Super Late Model portion of the event will be made up on Sunday, May 17th. 

Second Generation Driver Brevak is at Rockingham ARCA Race
ARCA - 4/18/09
Second-generation ARCA driver Brent Brevak, 21, from Ashland, WI, will make his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut in the #31 Northern Clearing Dodge at Rockingham Speedway Sunday April 19. The race is live on SPEED at 1:00 PM ET.

Matt Hirschman To Race for Pennink in the Spring Sizzler

Matt Hirschman mailed in an entry today for the April 26th "Spring Sizzler" NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Stafford Motor Speedway in CT. Hirschman will drive a second RP Motorsports entry as a teammate to Rowan Pennink. As of right now this is just a one-race deal. Pennick is a customer at the Hirschman Speed Shop.

"Rowdy Busch 125" Coming to Berlin - NASCAR Star to Compete

Kyle 'Rowdy' Busch will return to Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan on Wednesday, June 10, to race in a new event announced by the raceway.  The 'Rowdy Busch 125 presented by Auto Body Xperts CARSTAR' will host template bodied late models from across the Midwest.  Joining the template cars with be the Coors Light Outlaw Late Models.  Busch, who is arguably the hottest driver on the NASCAR circuit, will make his third visit to the Marne short track.

Former Camping World West Champ McCoy Passes Away at 72

Jack McCoy, a two-time champion and the winningest driver in the NASCAR Camping World Series West, died Tuesday at the age of 72.  McCoy – who won series championships in 1966 and 1973 – registered a record 54 series wins, along with a record 57 career poles in the series.  A native of California’s Central Valley, McCoy was well known for the Dodge he drove, which was usually purple in color.  While McCoy’s overall racing career spanned from the late 1950s to the early 1990s, he focused primarily on the NASCAR Camping World Series West from 1962 to 1974. In addition to his two series championships, he finished as the runner-up in the final standings of the series on four occasions – 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1974. 

Susquehanna Speedway Letting Locals In Free This Saturday

This Saturday night, April 18 will be the first "Hometown Heroes" Night at the Susquehanna Speedway Park in Pennsylvania.  Racing action will include the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stock Cars and Mini Vans, but local fans will turn out to be the real winners at Susquehanna.  The Hometown Heroes program will recognize all SSP drivers from Manchester, York Haven and Mt. Wolf, Pennsylvania.  Also, all fans entering the speedway from those towns will be admitted free to the grandstands by showing proper photo identification and filling out an information card at the ticket booth.
