Coby To Run Czarnecki Brothers Entry in True Value Modifieds

Doug Coby will compete in the True Value Modified Racing Series this season, driving the #20 Czarnecki Brothers Modified. Last season, the team fielded entries for Ted Christopher and Todd Owen. In the past, the Czarnecki Brothers team gained prominance by fielding the #711 for New England racing legend Bob Polverari. The team has also won a TVMRS race with Tony Ricci at the wheel. For 2009, the team will run a limited schedule of events starting with the May 9th race at Waterford Speedbowl (CT).
Hamner, Long & Boyett Are Among Five Flags ASA SAT Entries

Matt Hirschman Wins "Frost Bite Modified Winternatonals"

Matt Hirschman had the second fastest time in qualifying on Friday, but he was the winner on Saturday in the "Frost Bite Modified Winternationals" at Orange County Speedway (NC). Hirschman held off Ronnie Silk for the win. Charlie Pasteryak was third, George Brunhoelzl III was fourth, and JR Bertucio rounded out the top five.
Ronnie Silk On "Frost Bite" ASA Southern Mod Pole

In Friday's qualifying at Orange County Speedway (NC), Ronnie Silk set fast time for Saturday's "Frost Bite Modified Winter Nationals" ASA Southern Modified event. Matt Hirschman set the second-quick time, with Charlie Pasteryak, George Brunnhoelzl III and Burt Myers rounding out the top-five in time trials. The rest of the field will be set through heat races.

American Racers Will Be The PASS Tire of Choice at Dillon

Goodyear Tire Test at Hickory Goes Well for PASS

Earlier this week, Mark Gibson and Ryan Blaney tested a new Goodyear Super Late Model tire that will be used in PASS North and South this season. The test took place at Hickory Motor Speedway and both drivers shared their input on the test during this week's "Live to PASS" show on RaceTalkRadio.com.
Gibson reported that he had no tire problems and that the Goodyears were pretty close to the American Racer tires used last season. He reported that the same basic set-ups could be used with adjustments needed with camber. Gibson said that the tires were a little stiffer, a little taller and it takes a little more time to get heat into them.
Blaney reported that the tires were really consistant with just a little bit of wear on the outside edges after a 50-75 lap run.
Late Model Car Owner/Crew Chief Donnie Adams Passes Away

Donnie Adams, the father of Oxford Plains Speedway (ME) racer Travis Adams, has passed away at the age of 56. Donnie Adams has been the car owner and crew chief on Travis' distinctive lime green #03e Late Models through the team's 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2008 championship seasons at Oxford, as well as in a 2007 ACT Late Model victory at the track. Dash Champion Dean Combs is Caught Making Moonshine

Five-time NASCAR Dash Series champion Dean Combs has been arrested for allegedly making moonshine at a location in the shadows of the shuttered North Wilkesboro Speedway. According to the Wilkes Journal-Patriot, Combs has been charged with manufacturing non-tax paid liquor, as well as one count each of possessing, possessing ingredients to manufacture and possessing equipment to manufacture non-tax paid liquor.
Weather is Clear For a Busy Weekend of Racing
SHORT TRACKS - 3/4/09
It looks like Mother Nature is itching to get the short track season rolling this weekend. According to Weather.com, the forecast for the Opp, Alabama area, where The Rattler will take place, is mostly sunny all weekend with only a 10% chance of showers on Saturday and a 0% chance on Sunday.
Up at Rougemont, North Carolina, the ASA Modifieds and Pro Challenge teams will run the Frostbite Nationals under partly cloudy conditions and a 0% chance of showers on Saturday. It will be colder in Providence, Rhode Island where the TQ Midgets are racing this weekend - but that doesn't matter much as Ted Christopher and company will be racing indoors at the Dunkin' Donuts arena.

CRA South Season to Start at Watermelon Capital
