NASCAR Moves Weekly & Touring Series Banquets to NC
NASCAR Touring - 4/9/09
NASCAR announced today that its “stars of tomorrow” and short track veterans will gather in the greater Charlotte area for two special year-end celebrations.  NASCAR will host a special week of activities culminating in the 2009 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series (NWAAS) Awards Banquet on Friday, November 13, and the new NASCAR Night of Champions Touring Awards Gala on Saturday, November 14.  Both season-end awards banquets will be held in the recently-completed Embassy Suites Hotel Concord Convention Center which is located near the NASCAR Research & Development Center, in proximity to the future NASCAR Hall of Fame complex, as well as the home bases of many of today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams.

BDI Racing Coninues "Rally Against Cancer" at TCMS & Hickory
Teams - 4/9/09
BDI Racing's drivers Meghan Dillner (Pro Challenge Series) and Michael Pope (PASS South Super Late Model) will be raising funds this weekend to benefit the Jimmy Fund and its "Rally Against Cancer" initiative.  Dillner will raise funds at Tri-County Motor Speedway in Hudson, NC during the Pro Challenge and UARA Series events there Friday, while Pope will be collecting donations during the Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory on Saturday.  All donations will go to the Jimmy Fund, an official charity of the Boston Red Sox, which benefits the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.  The BDI Racing team will also donate a percentage of their winnings from both the Pro Challenge and PASS South events to the "Rally Against Cancer."  Fans who donate are encouraged to wear Boston Red Sox gear to both tracks to cheer on the BDI Racing team.

Montgomery Motor Speedway is Reborn, Set to Reopen
Tracks - 4/8/09
After a three year absence, racing will return to the half mile Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL) with the Dennie & Lois Rewis 100 lap Super Late Model race on April 25th.  The track is now operated by  the Knox family from Clanton, Alabama and the facility already had Musco lighting, a concrete pit lane & wall, inside and outside walls and fences.  Now, new grandstands have been put into place as well.  The Knox family owns Shelby Concrete and has constructed an awesome set of grandstands with a concrete base while utilizing the aluminum seats and backs from the former Birmingham International Raceway.

Ted Christopher Plans Southern Double This Weekend
WSMT - 4/6/09
Ted Christopher will head South to compete in the Friday/Saturday doubleheader of NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour races at Ace Speedway and Caraway Speedway this coming weekend.  TC, who won both the NASCAR WSMT opener at Concord Speedway last month and Sunday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season opener at Thompson International Speedway, will drive the #00 entry fielded by Joe Brady's Brady Bunch team.
